I have read the book A stepmothers diary, Written by Fay Weldon. I recommend this book to those who are a little older than me, at 30 - 50 years old. I think Fay Weldon wanted the readers would understand her humor and laugh a little now and then. But I never understood what was funny, but I was expecting more for something to happen sometime. The main characters in this book are Emely and Sappho.   Sappho is a young girl and a very talented writer. She grew up with her mother Emily is a Freudian psychoanalyst. Sappho marries one nineteen older man, Gavin and become stepmother to his two children, Isobel and Arthur. Isobel is a diabolical daughter who controls and manipulates with his father in total. One day sappho leaves her diaries to her mother in order to avoid conflict with isobel. Sapphos asks her mother not to read those. But Emily do it anyway. The book is about Emily reads the diary and analyzes, judge, adds her opinions. Sappho is, after all, her daughter. Emily worries about her and sometimes feel guilty about her upbringing. With her own psychoanalytic means try emely dissect and explain alternative, rationalize away another person's unique life experiences with their proper experience, at least the mother's version of the right Life. The story takes place in the city where Emily lives and in Apple Lee where sappho lives with his family. Professions mentioned in the book include: Emelys professional who is a psychoanalyst, Sapphos professional, scriptwriter.

The main characters in the book is: Emely: Is a widow and works as a psychoanalyst. Sappho: Is emelys daughter, former nanny, is the owner of the large family house Apple Lee. She is married, pregnant and a stepmother Gavin: Sapphos husband, former widower, father of two teenagers, the author is not so successful. Isolde: Gavin's dead wife, whose portrait now hangs over sappho oh Gavins real bed. Isobel: Gavin's talented teenage daughter, who gives her stepmother sappho pill instead of vitamin tablets. Often have nightmares that only her father can save. Arthur: A perfectly okay stepson. Gwen: Isolde's mother, who always wears Exclusive clothes, Exclusive habits and have opinions on Everything. Barnaby: Is emelys lover, a neighbor in need of Viagra. The book is a bit difficult to understand because of "Emily" as she analyzes. When emely says it's written by a trained person, so it is some difficult words, long sentences. When "Sappho" says it is easier to understand because she is younger and more modern. My rating for this book is a two out of five. This is a different book, and it can easily confuse the reader. It was a bit messy at the beginning of what it is about. Fay Weldon hae probably thought that the book should be fun and entertaining. I think more that it was boring and confusing. The way Fay Weldon wrote was just hard to read. When I arrived later in the document as I began to get used to the way it was written. I think everything depends on the character "Emelys" profession in the book. I prefer books that are more exciting or more drama than this book. I think this book is for readers who are between 28 - 50 years old. But besides, I think this book is worth Reading.
